La Rosca De Reyes: Who got the baby?

La Rosca de Reyes: Who Got the Baby? is a sweet and playful story that introduces children to the beloved Mexican tradition of sharing La Rosca de Reyes on January 6. Every year, families gather to cut into this special ring-shaped bread—hoping not to be the one who finds the tiny baby figure hidden inside!

In this rhyming tale, the narrator’s whole family takes turns slicing the festive bread: Grandma, a little niece, Aunt Maria, Mom, Tío, Dad, and finally the narrator. Piece by piece, everyone anxiously checks their slice… until the narrator discovers the surprise baby inside!

Finding the baby means an important responsibility: hosting the family tamale celebration on February 2, known as El Día de La Candelaria. Through fun verses and lively family moments, the story teaches young readers about the meaning behind this joyful holiday, the visit of Los Reyes Magos, and the importance of preserving Mexican traditions with pride and love.

Dulce Ramos loves a good mouthwatering bowl of homemade fideo, or noodle soup. Most especially like the kind her beloved Abuela used to make, who recently passed away. Dulce misses her Abuela terribly and wishes she had paid more attention and learned how to make her delicious fideo.

Now, Dulce embarks on a fideo cooking adventure that she is sure will taste just like Abuelas’.

In this touching story of family love and loss, Dulce discovers how cooking has the power to nourish the body as well as the soul.
